Hey all, didn’t see this hull in the thread yet and looking for some info if any of you have owned or ridden one. Currently have a glass AirBlair and looking for something more flatwater capable, but not so pidgeon-holed in freestyle that you would have a hard time riding surf or other conditions. Looking forward to the responses!

To my knowledge the air blair is based off of the rickter xfs/xfr which to this day is one of the best "all round" hulls there are IMO. With the xfs/xfr I feel that you can do any style of riding depending on your setup. Engine size, pump, tuning, pole length, etc. Ive set them up where I was able to surf waves, chase boats, and come back in and do flatwater combos. For surf they can be a little loose but still manageable. To my understanding the blair hulls are very similar with minor changes.
Ive also built several rips which are glorified ROK's. The rips are purely flatwater hulls that can do more with the more power you put in it. They re the type of hulls where you plant your feet in the holds and do tricks. Not boat chasers or surf skis at all. (You can chase boats but its not comfortable).
If I were you I would put some big power into the blair hull you have and really bring out what its capable of.

Thanks, I guess maybe more motor is all I need. It has a JM 735 currently, and going from an oem 155 to a 155 mag made a big change, but maybe I need to worry about the motor upfront before I make any final judgements that it’s not the hull for me. I’m pretty decent at timing my own setup, and if I were to try learning flips I’d rather do it off my own wake at a slower speed than hitting a boat wake. I guess that was pushing me more into the flatwater-only hull type.

Just figured I shouldn’t expect to flatwater flip any glass hull to begin with and needed to find a lighter hybrid or carbon hull
