What motor set up is it? Just by eyeballing it I would say you are rich, look how dark the electrode is and the fuel on the threads. Looks like it build up carbon or it is possibly wet foul them. What type plug are you running.......may be too cold

61x
175psi head
single 46
stock cdi

i know its rich and ive tried to tune it lean but it'll never run right and the plugs end up half brown half black?
i dont know what would cause the white to be left there if the rest is so black

If your secondary ignition is breaking up; I would replace your stock spark plug wire ends with the MSD style ends.

What heat range plugs are you running?

What rpm and throttle range is giving you the problem?

check your piston wash through the plug hole.both plugs are split like that?try shimming the plug to re index the ground electrode and see if the pattern is always in the same direction.what kind of head?

just re-did msd ends last night

stock head- milled with b8hs

throttle range im not sure i think mostly top end

yep, both plugs, front not as bad lol

try re indexing and see how the pattern moves.no porting done?,always done this or new?new base gasket?did you change anything in the motor?tell us more.

Ya'll should probably know the history behind this motor.

See post 3229 in the following thread:

I really have no idea what it could be. It doesn't sound like it's a carb tuning issue.

Hey Danny I'm almost to the point where I would just take it to Chucky and have him figure out what is wrong. This motor has already wasted so much of all of our own time. It's probably something so stupid that none of us have figured out yet.

Good luck. I can't wait to ride that thing in 2 weeks.:Banane01:

sorry, motors new to me as well

i dont know too much bout the internals other than suppost to have been rebuilt
when i had it apart didnt look to be ported and still had cross hatching on cyl. and both are even at 175 psi

a friend of mine had it in a blaster he bought and it came with all rebuild paperwork but it never ran right

carb is single 46mm 2.0 n/s 120 low 170 top and 25-26 pop off

oh yea timings advance 2.5 mm as well

it had a breaking up prob, and the advancing the timing cured that and it runs pretty good but now it eats plugs

thanks dan, this thing is def kicking my A$$ but i really dont have the mula for chuckie:banghead:

I think you need to go talk to chuckie, but I think the first thing he will tell you is you need to get away from that single carb setup, but hell set you straight if he has any time to help with everything that is going on right now.

OK I'll give some quick advice, Check timing with a timing light, set for 23 degrees. Jet main jet down... If you run too much timing you have to tun way too big of main jet then you have a raceboat and will only run well on the race course and keeping the throttle pinned at mostly run at wide open throttle. no time for booking time until June anyways...(freeride event in GA in 3 weeks)

I have pretty much the same setup as you except the limited superjet chamber instead of the blaster mod. When I was ordering jets from Legdrag he told me to start with a 145 main which is what factory pipe recommends. I also used a 120 low, 2.0 N/S, and 95 gram spring. I do have a Wetjet intake for the 46mm carb. I put another topend on it that I ported with Race Logic templates, but he told me porting wouldn't need a huge change in jetting. I just got it back together, so I haven't had it in the water yet. Hope to ride it this weekend.
