Custom/Hybrid Wet jet west coast exhaust question.

I'm gonna to be running a wet jet exhaust in my 300sx- 701 conversion. Anyone ever ran the wet jet exhaust with a girdled head? Can I ditch the bracket that bolts the pipe to the head? Will the band clamps be enough to Hold the exhaust?

You need the head mount. Ada makes a girdled head exhaust adapter.

Yes. These pipes live on the edge already, its a lot of weight to hang off a band clamp. Its one of the heaviest pipes you can get for the 701 platform.

The kit is like 50 bucks for ada heads.

I want to see pictures of this pipe mocked up in your 300SX.... also want to know why you wanted to go with the weather pipe?
Btw there’s two different models of the weather pipe, there’s a squared one and a sweeping one. The sweeping may be better for your application but I still doubt it’ll fit without a lot of Tetris trying to get everything in that little engine bay.

But for real, I want to see mock up pictures

I don't think you realize how much room is in a 300 engine bay. The last piece of my pipe is at the weld shop getting the exit flipped around.

As far as why I'm using this exhaust. A B pipe is 700$ this was 25$

That is sick actually, I had no idea there was so much room. Dont feel bad about the budget pipe, a lot of us dont spring for the b pipe. I have a Sizzler for my superjet and a Wetjet pipe Im putting on my fiberglass raider.

Did you graft a superjet pump tunnel in and 144 swap as well? I would love to know how it handles, I bet its fun.

It was originally a kawi set up. It has a kawi 750 pump tunnel under it actually.

Im aware of that ebay seller. Do you know how it sounds yet? His prices are right for sure.

Small waterbox, I think they are like 12in long.

Yes it's very short. It fits perfect in my short nose. I want to run a full size fuel tank so space is at a premium. Waiting on my exhaust down pipe to be done at the welder so I can hear it all.

Sorry to derail but what sort of baffles could you see inside? Is it like a simple perforated disk?

Sort of. The pipe goes all the way into the back wall and then had slots cut into it. Then one more baffle sort of and that's it. I can't imagine this will do much for sound sadly

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I have a jet works valve and some ideas as to how to move water around. I have no desire to be the the loud guy on the lake.

my motor I'm bolting this exhaust to is together. Anyone have any strong recommendations on jetting? Right now I'm running 125 pilot, 160 main, 2.5 needle and seat. Tested popoff today and it was only 15-16psi. Think that'll be too low? 46sbn.

Find out what the stock jetting on the wetjet kraze is. Stock is that exhaust and a 46. My guess would be around 120 Pilot 145M 24psi.
