Wetsuit thickness???

What wetsuit thickness are people running?? I’m on the Oregon coast and weather varies wildly here, I can’t find decent info. I run hot so the thinner the better. Spring/summer/fall - for winter I’ll just buy a real heavy one..
Any recommendations?

If you run hot, you'll be fine in a 3/2. I too run hot and cook in a 4/3 when riding Tierra but it's nice to not get the chills so fast when hanging out on the beach between rides. On the occasional "hot" sunny day you'll roast in even the 3/2.

I typically run a 3/2. I bought a cheap spray jacket for a couple of dollars from a yard sale that I put on when I begin to feel the cold. Surprisingly, it really extends the temperature range you can ride in, and doesn't significantly restrict movement like tour coats do.

Thanks guys great feedback! Someone told me to get a 4/3 and I was eyeballing the 2 so thank you. Would love to come to the ride.. I just bought a ski and it’s getting sent next week so I won’t have it yet.. I’ll take you up on the next one though!

I surf here in Pismo California and the water is in the low 50's. I have only needed a 4/3 when we are sitting most of the time waiting for waves and I am always cold. IF you are doing any activity and in/out like on a ski I wouldn't go more than a 3/2 unless you are hard core winter rider.
I use a Slippery 2 piece so when it gets too warm I can take off the jacket but still have mostly a full suit on with short sleeves.

Most wet suits will have specs for water temp. Plan on buying one that will keep you ALIVE when your ski leaves you stranded. Don’t go cheap like most people. Better to be too hot than too cold. Wetsuits aren’t just for comfort they are for survival. Wetsuitwarehouse.com is hands down the best place to buy

Yeah I’m the guy in a tank top when everyone is wearing hoodies. I’m not sure the water temp is accurate for me. But yes I hear you, I’m definitely going to get a decent one. I’ll check out that site, thanks.

The 2 piece suit looks like cool idea to have options for sure. My buddy works at Nike so I bet I end up with a Hurley suit.

The biggest thing with wetsuits is getting one with 100% strech, otherwise you will be hating life. 3/2 always worked for me surf riding,. I rock a 4/3 at my lake in December when theres snow on the ground my feet and hands get colder much quicker than my body ever does.

I run a 3/2 in summer and a 5/3 in the winter...this is UK weather, i'm told our weather is alot like Oregon? I do run hot hands in the winter tapped into my steering system then my grips drilled which helps heaps.
