What holds the choke plunger out when you pull it?

Im putting everything back together after a turf job and I reinstalled the choke. But when I pull it out and let go, it goes right back in. Is there something to adjust or am I doing something wrong?

I think you have to twist it to lock it? I can't really remember - it's been a long while since I rode with a choke. You need to pull that thing out of there and replace with a primer.

The choke works great on my ski. It always fires right up with it. But last year I could pull it out and it would stay at full choke or half till I pushed it back in. Thats why I stayed with it this year... But ill put a primer in it if it wont stay out

The choke has a collet/ friction collar built into the end of the threads. There should be a thin silver knurled nut thats mounts it in place. After that nut there is a black plastic piece that will tighten the collet around the stainless shaft your choke knob is attached to.

If its in place and not stripped out tighten it up a 1/8 turn or so, but dont strip it by using too much force.

The only correct answer in the bunch (as regards the OP's question that is)
