A well built race motor will hit harder and run better than a lot of so called freestyle motors. You may find that it works well.

Another thing is that in the description it said it had been run a couple of hours on the dyno. With all the mention of Westcoast parts that could be true. Westcoast actually had a dyno.

from what i know:

closed course porting has taller exhaust ports, not much wider than stock. - more mid range excelleration and top end.

freestyle/freeride porting has wider ports and not much taller than stock. - more bottom end.

Be careful with that seller... I bought a 750 Kawie engine from him years ago and it came with cracked/rewelded cases, slightly overbored cylinders with the same pitted up pistons and oversized rings. Whoever rebuilt the engine was so kind ot only mill "some" of the pits out of the head. Needless to say i never ran the engine and sent it back to him. He did make right by sending me a PJS Viper engine but it was missing all kionds of parts he never included as well. Then I see him resel the 750 I bought on ebay... I am surprised he only has one negative feedback on ebay! I have heard other tales about Mr. Sam Marton from reputable used parts dealers in the PWC business.

i have a set of those cases. theyre pre-62t. its a mod that riva did. they made the 'adaptor duct', that resembles that of a kawi 750, which gets bolted on and then welded.

i believe its where yamaha came up with the 62t upper case half design.

OK!! That explains a lot. I could not figure out what the deal was with the cases. No fingers, but no epoxy where they were removed either. Interesting to say the least.

Not quite. That type of case design was known to be better than what Yamaha did pre-62T (Kawi did it), so they just followed suit.

It is better because the intake charge doesn't have to do a 180 degree reversal (6M6 and 61X)

Those old style cases work better than the newer 62t cases. The intake charge has a straighter shot with less interferance from the crank.

This motor lasted about 20 hours. Snagged a ring on the bottom of the exhaust port and trashed both pistons and the head domes.

Well send him a message and tell him you know he is originally from California and Gordon from PJS warned you about him. See ifthat ruffles his feathers some.

he did me wrong and I lost out. Then I saw him resell the junk motor he sold me on eBay and made a good bit of his money back. Yet I was stuck with a PJS engine that wouldn't fit my ski at all. Sucked!

He just sold another stroker on Ebay last week or so, but I can't find the compelted auction. It's too late for me to leave him negative feedback, but I'd like to warn the new buyer that they need to go through the motor.

I'm lucky the crankshaft looks great. The cylinder looks like it will hone out too, but I may go ahead and bore it.

The biggest issue is that it has a TWIST head and I need someone to make new domes for me. (Probably Chucky).

When I bought the engine from him, it was from a classified on www.JetSki.com

Basicaly what I was told about him is that he gives you the impression that he is always trying to pull one over on you.

I will say he did "try" to make everything right in my case however he had me pay to ship the junk Kaw 750 engine back to him. After that, I never heard from him again. He stillewed me lots of parts for the PJS Vioper engine. I had already sunk a grand into the 750 for the initial purchase. I just gave up. had I known what I know now, I would have filed for mail fraud. But I was young, stupid, and embarrassed that I got taken advantage of. After I saw him resell the 750 on eBay, I knew he was a scammer.

Now I won't say I am perfect but if you look up my feedback you will see that it is pretty good. I have sold some parts that were questionable but I always said that in the auction description. That is the difference between him and I. I tell you everything up front. I don't use dark photos that hide serious flaws when I sell parts. I guess I know what it feels like to be ripped off. If you pay to much for one of my auctions then that is your fault. But rest assured, I will divulge any and all info about my parts in the description.
