SXR What is the best ride plate/intake combo?

D cut your stock ride plate. You’ll probably want to get your bars 2-5 inches closer to the nose after that with bars/turn plate/handlepole changes.

You can start by cutting it flush with the end of the hull. But the SXR is so planted on the nose in stock form that I liked this cut better for free riding.

There’s one on eBay right now for a steal. Search “sxr”.

I have a 2010 sxr that is slightly modified. I just installed the TBM Plate and Grate and love them. Rode ocean in Florida a week ago, and this combo was perfect in the surf, and semi flat water in the bay. I love the handling now, but hated it before with a stock plate, and then a worx extended race plate.

Good luck

Here's the Blowsion version. You can just use High Grade Silcone or Epoxy and Filler to fill the void.

I have the TBM plate and hate it. It auto tracks, so good luck getting your ski to slide or slap a lip, whaaaPOW!

I also reached out to experienced riders when considering my TBM purchase... Lets face it, they are not inexpensive. You can see my post on this forum also from that time. I found that many riders had specific preferences, and I am sure they all worked well for each of them. Unfortunately, there was no consistent theme to rider preferences, so I did the best analysis of responses that I could, watched some youtube, and facebook videos, and pulled the trigger. I was so frustrated with my worx race plate, and the 750 pro grate the previous owner had on the ski, any change may have been major improvement, I did try stock plate first, but the nose tracked and wobbled at deceleration, just like worx plate. It was fine at top speed, and carving was awesome. I am thinking that the length of the worx just put too much nose pressure on ski. I am 6 ft, 250 lbs, so that may be a factor also, and why the TBM worked for me. Good luck.
