What kind of paint to use

I need money for my SKI

My friend and I are just finishing up our repaires to our SN, and are ready for paint. We can't make a dicision on paint yet, should we prime-paint- and clear coat, or prime and gelcoat. and if we us getcoat what has everyone used? Thanks for any help

use as little primer as posable. only prime bondo and patch work,paint sticks to gel coats and paint just great and if you get a chip you would see primer. base, clear all the way for me. been painting skis like that for years now

you guys have a paint booth & sprayer? wanna do mine while your at it?:fingersx:

The paint booth is James shop,( MOTOTECH) we just cover everythingelse. and were are getting ready to buy new paint guns since james roomate stoll out last guns.

So prime, paint, and clearcoat is what we should do? I'm going to paint my hole ski bottom and top orange and my handlepole black. I was going to prime and then get some orange gelcoat and spray the hole thing.

Your best bet is to use an epoxy based primer, and as your topcoat use a urethane based paint and clear coat. This type of paint will cure hard and resist damage fairly well.

Thanks thats what we were thinking, us a epoxy based primer, and as a topcoat use a urethane based paint and then clear coat.:You_Rock_Emoticon:
