what kind of rideplate?

ok so im sure that there have been multiple threads about this.. but i bought a stock sn superjet. i am looking to start putting mods on it before the summer. my question is what kind of ride plate should i get. i normally ride in the river chasing big boats for their wake. but i also run some bouys and have been experiementing in the surf a bit. so i guess i looking for a real good all around plate. i am about 190 lbs so i was thinking a bit longer one. dirkdiggler has a bunch of plates that i think i will pick one up from him. i have heard a bunch about the WORX dominator but am not sure what to get. any advice?

save your money and d cut your stocker plate.

Read his post. He chases boats up and down the river. To do so, you need to be able to have a ski that handles good at speed. Adrian, think of Lanier chasing after those cruisers. Short plate makes it squirlly. Also, he mentioned he likes to run bouys. Short plate is terrible for this.

A Worx std plate or RIVA groovy plate is a good plate. It is still short enough to break the back end loose but long enough to give you added handling.

True dat, if the chasing is for chasing's sake. If he wants a little freestyle fun when he catches it then a looser plate is better IMO. It comes down to a compromise in the end - I'm willing to have my ski throw me off a few times chasing boats for the benefits of a plate that breaks loose easier. But that's just me.

i dont appreciate the sarcasm in your disagreement on my opinion, you know very well i never bother riding lakes. stock is a good all around ride plate, no point in spending cash on something that may not suit your needs or wants.

WOW, where was sarcasm. I dont know jack about you. Stock can be a good all around plate.

Running bouys is not something the stock plate is good at. Hence the reason I recommended a std worx plate or a riva plate. They give you better stability and still allow your ski to break free when need be. I would not recommend a Worx Dominaor or an R&D Rius plate for all around riding. Why? They plant the nose way too much.

ok thanx fellas i appreciate all the advice. ill prob stick to the stock plate for a while to see how it does. like i said it does get a bit choppy in the rivers so i think i will pick up the WORX maxiloader grate that diggler has for sale... thanks again

i, and others, find your postings offensive and immature. not trying to start another drama thread, but please have some respect.:tapedshut:

Let's see, OP asked about ride plates for chasing cruisers and running bouys. I have raced for over 10 years. Based off my experience I gave him sound advice for his riding style. Not every SJ has to have the famous "D" cut stock plate.

My question to you was an honest question, if you cannot comprehend a straight up question why get all pissed at me.

I do not know you, I do not know where you ride.

As far as my post being offensive, please show me where I insult members on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. And then ask the question have you ever insulted anybody?

My favorite all-around plate that I've used is my bright green ocean pro finned plate, it's only an inch or two longer than stock so it still jumps pretty good but it doesn't slide out super easy like the stock one does, and when it does slide it's more predictable than other aftermarket plates I've used.

I guess it's called the "ocean freeride" plate.

your opinion is based off of your experience, great. thats YOUR 2 cents and you can give it just as i can give mine. you obviously disagree with me but why the hell do you care enough to start all this? are you gonna get smart with the op because hes not taking your advice now too?
