What's keeping you off the water this summer?

I see a bunch of injury threads, so lets get a count of who's screwed this summer. I've been off for a month, and have at least one more to go from a buggered up rotator cuff which has led to a frozen shoulder. My first visit to the physical therapist was all massages and gentle stretching - now they're just trying to hurt me!! I'll take the pain to get well faster, but I fear it's going to be a while.

What's keeping you off the water?

A "minor" outpatient surgical procedure, a couple of other (possibly serious) health complications, absolutely no time during weekends due to a big project, the couch has it's pump shut, the SJ has only seen water once this season without me while I was in bed on percocet, etc., etc,..
Our season here is short, and I've missed half of it already. :banghead:

At least you got your new boat, sweet ride man!

so far my bodies good :fingersx:

buuuuuuuut im waiting on some money to buy a new pole, pump liner, prop and waiting on factory pipe to hopefully cover a headpipe on their behalf...

oh ya, and a new midshaft assem.:banghead::banghead:

hopefully by the end of the month i can be back on the water but if not oh well i might just end up dressing the ski up a little more with some goodies :woot:

I guess my ski being 7 hours away and me not having a place to store it or ride where im living now. I miss it more than anything I left back home.

The only thing holding me up is crankworks assembling a 6mm crank. Which gives me time to get the dozen skis in the yard done. MOST need new motors.. So I can afford aforementioned crank..

Trying to get through my honey-do list. Put in a new backyard,(4 retaining walls, 25 shrubs, 55 blue rug junipers for ground cover on a BIG hill, 30 yards of mulch and a new lawn). Installed a concrete paver patio. Redid my existing lawns. Built and installed 2 docks. Now I just need to build a deck and a pergola and re-stain the floor and stairs of our farmer's porch and I am done.......yeah right :banghead:

i go out all the time but i fear i might be loosing that privlidge due to my knee.. last week i was jumping off my ski and hit the corner of the boat tie downs on the edge of the dock. my knee is swollen and the pain keeps gettin worse...

what sucks is the accident was from gettin off the ski... not even from riding. gahhhhh

Damn fractured pelvis is keeping me off the water at the moment. Did it about 5 weeks ago racing Supermoto in the UK, the person that said you won't high-side if you keep it nailed LIED! Either way you're going down! Wouldn't have been quite as bad if I hadn't been winning at the time. GRRR!

Anyway, 7 inch fracture from top to bottom of my pelvis (going right through the socket), two other fractures in one of the rings at the bottom and a bit of shattering! Goddammit! The surgeons reckon I'll be able to weight bear on it in another week and then I got six more weeks on one crutch and then I can start training again, but probably not on the ski for a few weeks after that.

Winter season it is for me then! On the up-side at least I now get more time to put the blaster back together properly.

Get well soon everyone and more importantly get back on those skis!
