Whats the deal with footwells in 550s?

Im feeling confident to cut into the ski, removing a section of the hull, an then installing footwells.
I cant seem to find much details or any threads/post about this. Really appreciate all the local help, my engine looks like she'll run great and the hull work is fun ( in right mind set- organization & patience.)

Do people do this mod to their 550s/440s etc?????
I sense it may be harder than a SJ?
WHAT FOOTWELLS BEST SUIT THIS JOB ????

Tips on anything i MUST/SHOULD/NEED to know about ?

thanks for the help

I did diggers on one of my 550's. Work fine, there's nothing more complicated to it than putting them on a superjet, in fact they're easier.one of the best upgrades for a ski by FAR. Just don't screw up and waterlog ur tray. Make sure the footholds are perfectly air tight. Get u some --
-epoxy resin only on a 550 hull
-mixing sticks, cups, brushes
-fiberglass cloth, mat, no need for biax

Im a cheapo so I made my own....

Remember these old JS hulls are made from SMC so an epoxy resin is a must.
Polyester no bueno!
