whats wrong with my ski?

i put a brand new battery in and it ran fine. when i shut it off the battery is dead?
i believe its my stator. is there anything else that could be wrong?

Wow. That's quite a jump!

I think further tests are in order.

Test in this order:
Test the battery.
Test the ohms on the stator coils.
Test the AC volts on the stator coils.
Test the voltage coming off the regulator.

Check both battery cables. Mainly your ground to your cases/starter bolt.

Test continuity across the battery cables for any unseen breaks and tightly attached.

Test resistance across the stator coils. (Get a wiring diagram.)

What's your readings?

sounds like you have something drawing on your battery. Even if the stator is nto charging it you should still have enough juice for the day. I.E. guys with total loss make it all day on one battery

all the battery cables are tight. im gonna try to get those readings for tommorrow.

i ran into another problem.
it sounds like my starter isnt engaging to anything. it sounds like its just spinning.

Which ski is it?

Pull the starter and inspect it, if it's a 550 or 650. I don't know SJ starters, yet. :shrug:
