Airfare and rental cars have skyrocketed for this year. Delta went from $295 R/T the last 3 years to $455 this year. Last year a minivan was $23 per day from Dollar Rent a Car, this year $92 per day!
Yeah we're trying to figure it out to save some money. You obviously get a better deal if you do airfare and hotel at the same time too even though the travel sites are a joke and the plan makes 19 stops and connections lol

You may want to look into flying into Orlando (MCO) and then driving over to Daytona. It may be cheaper. Not a bad ride.

I've made arrangements to get my ski down for Christmas this year. Of course there may not be a real event.... just my luck.
There will probably be a real event as usual, it just usually all takes place last minute typically which makes planning more difficult for everyone.
