When will the engine designers/engineers in our world, get their heads out of their asses, and design an engine around user serviceable rods and bearings? Today's crop of high strung, thoroughbred engines are built around the flimsiest POS cranks I've ever seen. Especially the connecting rods/bearings.

Come on guys...give us something like what the 2 stroke outboard guys have.

I would guess they have no choice with that design, I'm thinking all two stroke outboards have dead heads. Only way to install piston and rods is from crank side.

I have a rod now after seeing those rods. If I had those in my motor I would never assemble it and just look and the pretty parts haha

I've long wondered why we have multi piece crankshafts and roller bearings. Must be a reason though as I'm sure those parts cost more to produce vs 1pc cast cranks and 1pc plain shell bearings.

Yes, no dedicated oil system to pump oil into the babbitt like a four stroke. And if you've every had an oil pump go bad or some other oil casualty in your car, you know those crank bearings don't last long... They depend on the pressurized oil being forced into them to create a layer of oil, preventing metal to metal contact.
Anyways, here are the rods I want to try in my next crank rebuild...
