Where can i find nose locks for trailers

I built my trailer and i want to lock the nose down using one of the rubber type of clasp systems, anyone know where to get them?

WOW, for forty bucks i can get the drop steel to do the same thing and still have money in the bank. I just need to know how much they cost and it would be worth it. Thanks for the link.

Any idea on the width of the piece to know how wide the steel coming up should be, 1 or 2 inch? Now that i think of it, that makes for less welding, or possibility of things breaking. i may just buy them.

hey, thanks for that. Now they are talkin my style. I am going to put a cross brace of angle iron on the rails of my trailer then run a piece of angle iron straight up for the bow stops to connect to. Simple design, it is raining all day here and i only have today to get this done, the waves are forecast to be huge on thursday.

I got one like that at the Kawi dealer for $8. I don't use it because it sucks for hold the stand up in place.

i removed the hand crank and had the angled uprights rewelded to go straight up... then used these bow stops with a pin. By doing so, i cleared up a lot of space on the front of my trailer and can now fit up to 4 skis on it plus my trailer box and a 4 fuel jug rack.

The 2nd pic was taken before i installed the polyurathane stop. You can see it cleared up almost 2 feet of trailer space.

well i am a cheap a$$, and i think instead of spending anymore $$ i may just weld something up that looks like the rubber nose locks and pad it with some hydrotruf scraps (this is where you come in Thong_bandit). thanks for all the helpful posts. TxJfrosty you need a lowered hood and nose piece then your ski would look kick a$$, but i am sure it rips harder than mine with a puny 650.

yeah, i've been wanting one, but i keep spending my money on motor parts and other jetskis. just picked up another RN hull for this winter's project. I have an extra hood, i am thinking about making my own lowered hood.

I went to the hardware store and bought some shop cart wheels, the metal frame of the wheel was the same size as the rubber bow stops. Paid like $4 per deal, tossed the wheels and hardware in a bin and glued on some turf works great.

I had a ski fall off my old trailer! I like this style of keeper because it prevents the ski rocking some on the bunks. I should mention though, I was making a sharp turn, driving too fast, and only had a piece of rope holding the ski on the trailer. Good thing it fell off in my yard.

I want some of the pins that go through this style of bow stop but with the locks on them. Then again if I was stealing the ski... I would just unbolt the stop from the trailed with it locked to the ski still. Not really the best safety device...

as far as safety...i lock my ski with a bike lock to the angle iron on my trailer.

The more i think about it...the more i like the rubber set up. I will post some pics after tonights welding. I don't want the ski to rock or bounce. I picked up enough steel for the job (paid 7dollars for 20lbs) so i will see what i come up with.

here is my setup for front,

its the part that holds the leaf spring slightly machined to fit the half round bow eye of a RN and slightly bend out with hitch pin lock in place, safety and security
