Where to ride on the Outerbanks, NC?

Please help me find a good place to ride in the Outerbanks, NC. I believe we are staying in the Southern Shores area. I am bringing 2 GP 1200s and my SJ on vacation. Will be riding with my kids. They have driver licenses. Looking to cruise and do some sight seeing. Willing to trailer them anywhere. Anyone done this before? Exact location of boat ramp would be awesome. Thanks

You can launch out of Pirates Cove near Oregon Inlet or Teach's Lair in Hatteras near Hatteras Inlet. The sound can get less than 6" deep in places, especially around Oregon Inlet. The down side is that you cannot ride surf on the OBX since the ocean side of it is a National Seashore. If you do, ride the sj, don't get caught and cover that thing in the bed of your truck as FAST as possible after beaching it. At least, that's what Wilkey and myself did back in the day. Also, don't let they authorities see you with a ski on the beach. Of course, it would be extremely difficult to tow a trailer on the beach anyway since many areas have very soft sand.

It's really a shame that the OBX isn't more open to PWCs. Hence, why we have the AWA to fight for us!

just my $.02

by the way, riding the sound down there can still be a blast! Ripped Flipside's blaster for a few minutes last month in Frisco. Capehenery and myself had 2 dolphin jump clear out of the water between us when we were only a few feet apart at Oregon Inlet a few years ago!

I'll be there last week of June (Duck). Been going for 7 years and never seen 1 pwc on beach only the sound side.
