Super Jet which plug for a 701 sj milled head and b-pipe

So I just bought a 701 sj with a milled head and was doing some research on what plugs to put in it. I was going to use standard br8hs but it has a set of br8es in it right now. So what should I go with

I think you have to run the hs plugs on a stock head. The threads on the es plug are double the length of the threads on a hs plug making the plug hang down into the cylinder too far.

It's not about it being common. Stock head - HS. Aftermarket head - ES. The plugs are different lengths.
Resistor plugs weren't required in earlier SJ's, but now they are. Nothing really changed in the ignition to require this, but there you go. I'd put the BR8HS in it.

I run b8hs and have the same setup been running them for years with no problems. br8hs will work too they just have a resistor which doesn't make a difference with stock electronics.

just so we are all clear on the difference between br8es and br8hs.. the e=19mm thread depth and h=12.7mm thread depth.

I wouldnt try running the br8es in a stock head despite whether Matt thinks you can or not.

I don't think the ES plugs are long enough to slam into the crown when installed in a stock head

It was a milled stocker though. But, yeah, they probably didn't take enough off that there'd be an issue. Funny story; one day I am out in my yard working on my boat and my neighbor's son who is about 17 at the time comes over to talk to me. He is holding the head of a Mercury outboard in one hand, and 'shaving it down' with the metal rasp file he was holding in his other hand. Can you guess the outcome of that little mod? :)

br8es will NOT hit the pistons.... i ran them for a year. the h plugs are the correct plugs to run, but either or will work just fine. when you go to an aftermarket head tho(ADA) you need to use br8es.

Why in the world would you knowingly run the wrong plugs for years? seriously...

the only reason the ada heads calls for longer thread reach is because of the way the dome is designed. optimally you want the spark in the center of the combustion chamber, which is something you dont even have to think about, you just have to run the plugs they say. retard proof if ya ask me...
