Surfriding Which way do you roll in surf stance?

It looks like I will be set up this year to start trying inverts. I have been going over and over the motion in my head.

I ride with my right foot forward so I think it makes more sense to roll to the right but I guess I will not know till I try. Since it's 3 degrees and all outdoor liquids are frozen here I wanted to see what you all think?

I have footholds but I hate riding and jumping in them. It's way easier for me to just ride surf stance all the time and stick my left foot in really quick.

Right foot forward and roll left here.

Do whatever feels comfortable. I have been trying stabs to the right but it feels awkward to me. The bars get in my way or hit me in the right hip. To the left for anything is more natural to me.

I am regular foot (I ride left foot forward) and I roll to the left- over my shoulder, kinda like a cheater back flip. My main riding compadre Matt Smith rides Goofy foot (Right foot forward) and he also rolls to the left- for him rolling left is like doing a summer salt. Which means there's no right or wrong way, its just boils down to whatever feels natural. A few of the guys I ride with who are into competing, can roll both ways, left or right all while keeping the same stance.

Thanks for the insight guys. That article is very cool!

My goal is to go in 100% committed when I start trying to keep my resin and cloth usage to a minimum.... I'm squirely about going upside down...hope I can get over the nerves.

Got anything for me on easiest wave angle to take? I've seen videos of guys carve to the right and roll right, up the wave dead on rolling both ways, and even carve up the wave one way then roll the opposite. Preference again?
