which way would you drive, down I-75 or I-95?

If we go I-65 from here to Nashville, then I-24 to Chattanooga, then I-75 through Atlanta, to I-10 to Jacksonville, then I-95 to Daytona.

If we instead take I-64 over to Lexington to I-75 down to Knoxville to I-40 to Asheville to I-26 to I-95 then down to Daytona it's an extra 24 miles. (actual mileage to my house, changed the maps to hide my full address)

I've heard there is quite a bit of construction on I-75 in Georgia plus we'll be going through Atlanta Thursday morning around 6-7am depending on how things work out, so we may or may not miss the morning rush hour.

not sure about the I-75 part, but if you do go that way, definately hit I-10 over to I-95...

The ride down from Asheville is not bad, we just were up that way this past weekend. I'd risk the extra 24 miles to avoid atlanta.

Atlanta is not that bad, went through there going to Myrtle Beach and Lake Norman, both around 5:30 in the afternoon, was not bad at all....... plus I go there all the time and it not bad........ (unless you get behind a pileup)

I drove to Waynesville NC in 7hrs.
It took us 7hr. just to get to atlanta...

I just made the ride back from north IN. this week. 421 south to 65 south to 24 east to 75 south. I have made the trip for several years and others that take me through Atlanta. After this trip, got back to FL. on Wednesday night, the wife and I have decided we will drive an extra hour, maybe 2 just to avoid Atlanta in the future.

I believe you could go through there at 2 A.M. and there would be a wreck somewhere or a traffic back-up.

Yes there is construction on 75, there is a federal law for the D.O.T. to make travel inconvienent at any time on at least a 50 mile section 75.
