this sport is dangerous enough as it is.don't think listening to music while riding is a good idea .how about a lil' text while we're at it?

Yes i and my riding group all use MP3 players made by speedo. They stop you getting that annoying water stuck in your ears for days on end and it defo makes you ride harder. I ride surf in a huge open space with nobody else around apart from us jet skiers.
MP3 while riding gets my vote.
