I don't have time to search through a ton of stuff... so, who's rockin a new style superjet in the surf, or a combo of surf, chop and flat?

Thinking my next hull (for next season) will be a new style round nose.

What do you like about it and what do you hate?

What ride plate set up are you running (oem, AM, d-cut)?

How's the hull holding up to the surf? Cracking, braking, anything? Esp around the hood seal area.

Have you reinforced it? What weight cloth did you use? How many layers?

Any other details one should know?

Thanks in advance...

I rode Ross Champion's Superjet the other day and it was amazing! The main feature that I liked was the tubbies that were added on to the hull in addition to the pre-existing tubbies. It really allowed you to control how quickly you wanted the boat to pivot for a quick snap on the face of a wave.

That is the main thing I noticed on the 09 superjet I rode

08 style hull add destroyers, pre 08 nozzle and steering, cut the chines in the back off, d cut plate and the boat handles like a dream. Definitely my ski of choice for a new project coming up to get ready for daytona.

Thanks Mark... Who makes the destroyers? I'll be swapping my nozzle and steering my from '96, and definitely D-cutting the plate. Can you describe 'cutting the chines in the back off'?

Thanks again guys.

Yep blowsion makes the destroyers, super easy to install on a bare hull. if not you just have to remove a few things to make room to work. I don't have my ski with me or i would snap a photo. Basically the best way i can describe it is to do a D cut on the far sides of the rear portion of your bond rail. The concept is to unrestrict the water flow going down your bond line when it gets to the back of your hull. if you cut only that little section open the water will flow right through removing the "brakes". I experimented with my 04 hull with regular tubbies and this is what i came up on that proved a difference.

I rode with a stock D cut plate with tubbies and the back of my hull un cut. I could hardly ride it, I kept falling over when i went to turn. It also turned like crap, i couldn't lean it over like i could with my 550 with tubbies. So what i did was bolt on an extended ride plate. This made a BIG difference because now the nose was forced down more so putting the tubbies in the water actually forcing them to work. Now my boat handled pretty damn good but still felt like there was more. So i cut the rear chines in my hull open like i have mentioned above and my nose now plowed too much. I kept pearling when surfing. so I compensated and D cut the extended plate and it has been great ever since. For surfSlam i plan to grind off my tubbie 1's and install destroyers on my 04. I cant wait to feel the difference on those. Anyways that is the whole concept and my experience with cutting the chines on the rear of the hull. It may not be ideal at first but tuning your boat with a good tubbie and ride plate set up for your style really makes a difference. Also I switched from a WORX 201 to 205 and that also made a huge difference because it is less aggressive and lets you get the boat sideways and break loose a little better yet still provide great hookup through chop. The 201 kept giving me the "unloading feeling" as i leaned my ski over really hard. It is a super aggressive loader i can see how it works better for racing when you keep the ski a little more flat in the water hauling ass around the corners.

yeah, I have the rear bond rails cut off on my '96... so I think I follow what you are saying. I just bought a new style hull from Wammer, just waiting to hear back from him on shipping it up to me...

He's gonna hook me up with a raider drive shaft and a wammer ride plate.

Mark the Chines are the two V shaped sections on the bottom of your hull which run the entire length of your ski I believe you are refering to cutting out the rear bond line on either side of the rear of your hull

Is the intake grate different for the '08+ superjets (different than thepre '08's)?

I'm pretty stoked... my new hull will be here next week... footholds, blowsion one way valve and destroyers will be here this week. I'll be cutting the tray open to do the light weight poly foam like I did in my current hull.

Sorry, just poking fun, it was hard to determine what you were asking for in your post. No offence meant.
Reviving old threads is better than creating a new one on an already existing topic but when the discussion has been dead for so long, you will have better luck being more specific in your question as most people don't want to re-read the thread to figure out what you are talking about.
