Will ice damage hydro turf?

I've got my skis covered for the winter, but I noticed some water got into the Blaster's footwells and froze last night. Will it damage the turf if water soaks into it and freezes? I'm a bit worried about it breaking open the cells in the foam as it expands.

Ive never had it damage mine. I dont keep my tray area covered over the winter, just the motor compatrment and havent had a problem yet. The only thing that caused damage to the turf was the stupid squirrels one year.
