Winch system

Over the winter I started messing with the idea of putting a winch in the bed of my truck and pull my jet ski up a ramp into my bed. Currently, I made a PVC ramp prototype that works but is a little short and sketchy. Before I start improving this one I was wondering if anyone has done something similar to this?

It might not be the wisest idea to drag the hull across the PVC or bed of your truck. You may want to drag it up on a cart like shown in the post above.

Were you thinking electric or hand winch?

or you could use a hitch hauler :) no winch needed all that bed area saved for more important cargo (beer, burgers , more beer, some fuel , more beer , ohhh and maybe a lawn chair for when you cant stand anymore (from the beer) Flier2.jpg

I've been thinking about one of these, but they are pretty expensive.

I don't see the advantage of using the bed over a hitch hauler unless you are trying to carry more than 1 ski.
The Hitch hauler is actually easier... back into the water until the ski floats up .. DONE.

but yes for multiple skis how about this one on the carrier (V2 carrier with towing) 2 in the bed , and 2 on the trailer.. doesnt get any cooler IMG_3142.jpg FullSizeRender3.jpg

I have used a harbor freight rack in the past as a hitch hauler. Worked fine but concerned me. I want to buy a hitch hauler, but the one I wanted they refused to add a trailer hitch to it.

What make do you have?

Oh, and my idea for the lift I linked was to have a rack on top of the bed with storage under. Lift the ski while it's on a beach stand and slide it onto a rack above the bed.

I manufacturer (fabricate ) hitch haulers with the ability to accept a tow hitch .
