Worx Dominator

If you put a Dominator on a squarenose will it handle funny without hull extensions?

I thought it would be nice to have a couple different types of ride plates for different types of riding. But the ride plate sticking way out like that all by itself just looks like it would handle funny . . . ?

My ski porpoises so badly I can barely get any speed - when I get in choppy surf, its even worse. This is with a full tank of gas, and me trying to keep my weight way forward. I weigh about 200 pounds (not sure if that's heavy by jet skiing standards.) Right now I have a UMI ride plate - its a few inches longer than a stocker.

What sort of maneuvers would a Dominator (or hull extensions) make more difficult when riding in the surf?

Well, for the last few weekends I'm not running an intake grate. I really didn't think they make that much of a difference in terms of porpoising, and overall handling - I thought that were intended mainly to keeping the pump hooked up.

I have an Ultrac grate sitting on the work bench - the powder coating is flaking off and I'm getting it re-done. I'm not sure if anyone will remember Ultrac from back in the mid 90's, but its quite aggressive - deep, with two scoops. If there is water in the general vicinity, it will find it. When I let off the throttle, you can almost hear my ski screech to a stop. 8-O )

Would a super-long ride plate prevent me from doing a nose stab off a wave? That's my goal for the summer. I'm hoping a long plate won't get in my way too much since I'm going to postpone attempting a backflip until next year. >:)

The Worx Dominator is a great plate for flat water racing but it's extremely heavy compared to some other long plates.

I have a brand new one for $100 plus shipping.

yo. have you been out much this summer? I am in terence bay and wanna get out with more standup riders.... I am a big guy too, and my sn porpoises if I am not putting my weight as far forward as possible, I have the jet Dynamics xtra long plate and work grate. I am gonna shorten my pole soon and have heard that will help get my weight farther forward and reduce the porpoising...

Dude! I wrote to you on Facebook to let you know we were riding at Rainbow Haven last Sunday but didn't hear back from you. I couldn't find your email address and never thought about contacting you here. Can you shoot me an email through this site so I'll have your address handy! The surf was great. Probably not going out this coming weekend (we've got some broken skis - waiting for parts) but probably next weekend.

I have a rn and the dominator is an awsome plate. I use it for flatwater and alil surf too. So far i havnt found a flaw really. U can still jump waves and do your nose stabs. it helped the sj alot when cornering hard when doing laps.

If your pump can't hook-up it will handle like chit. I'm not saying use a super aggressive scoop grate, but use something.

sakit2me's new conversion ski had the grate that came with the hull and it was super-aggressive. it wouldnt allow the boats nose to come up or ass end to slide out, even when you wanted it to.

i put the worx201 from her square onto it and it make a world of difference. now its flickable and the nose stays up more.

so, yes... an intake grate plays a big role in handling.
