Super Jet WSM replacement wear-ring ??

I bought a WSM wear ring housing ( with the replaceable plastic insert ) from AJS. First off, it was difficult to get over the prop because it was so tight. Secondly when I get it screwed into place, the prop is tight against the liner like it's swollen. I think the trailing edge of the prop is dragging, and I did just put fresh bearings in the pump. If it matters. But the prop will not turn by hand, but using a spline tool and a wrench, I can get it around with a little bit of effort. SO....

Is the Liner suppose to be this tight? ie. The prop will wear into the plastic and seat itself after a ride or two?

The plastic is relatively soft, but i'm worried if I ran it as-is, I may get some spline wear. So WTF is up?

I bought a WSM wear ring last year. It was same way. I used a flap sander on a dremel at low speed and just scuffed away until I could turn the prop by hand...barely. I let the engine do the rest of the sanding with the prop.

Replace the liner with the better quality sbt liner. They are sized better than wsm and higher density plastic.

Full Stainless is too expensive for a college kids budget with OEM pump. I'm not positive its WSM, but the housing is green and looks cast. Not the yami OEM look at all. On AJS and SBT websites the housing looks identical in the pictures, but not what I received. Not that it matters to me, just pointing it out. IDK what Sbt's looks like when you get it. But anyway, would it be ok to just run it and let it grind itself out? Plastic seems soft enough, and getting it wet would help pop its cherry I would imagine.

go run it near the beach by some sand. Its easier than using sandpaper lol. They work great for the price range. They are disposable.

I just installed a WSM before last ride. My old wear ring was swollen with salt water from the past and the prop or starter wouldnt turn it. The wsm was tight and took some persuading to get it on, but once it was on mine spun by hand, tight but still by hand.

SBT used to sell wsm wear rings, but it now their own casting that matches the look and feel of oem much better design than the wsm IMO. Sbt website pics probably just havent been updated. You can replace the softer black plastic of the wsm with the harder sbt dupont delrin anytime.
