Are There Any Other Steering Cables From Other Ski's That Will Work On X-2's?

Not to my knowledge. There are cables out there. Either buy from your dealer, or find someone parting out a hull. Make sure you get the right year.

I am not really sure what other models fit. I do know That Jet Wave a Japanese exporter sells a kit by Maekawa Engineering that eliminates the linkage/squirel cage system. But thay may only be for their custom X2 hulls which I can't afford..

I pulled the steering and trim cables from my spare X2 hull. They look almost identical but one is a hair longer than the other. Anyways:

I'll be watching those,thanks. Also,the professor stated "make sure you get for the right year model". Which years will interchange? I need one for a 86'.

As far as I know all years are the same... except in 89 they had a straight cable model that did not use the linkage bolted to the turn plate and sub plate. Those will not work. I think they only did the straight cable for half a year or something like that. Othersiwe any X2 cable will work. I can measure mine if you need a length.
