Forums have lost some of their usefulness due to Facebook/Twitter/Snapchat/Instagram/etc, but are still needed for research/etc. I've seen it happen here.

What other sites do you use related to jetskiing and for what? Do you organize rides elsewhere? What could I add here or try to integrate that would help keep things in one place?

This is just open-ended thinking on my part wondering what to do next. Suggestions?

I used PWCtoday a lot, and Green Hulk sometimes.

I used PWCtoday because it has a bigger Kawi crowd, as well as a much bigger X2 crowd. I only use Greenhulk to hunt for parts.

Facebook is used to organize rides in the Pacific NorthWest.

Like Matt said, pwct has a bigger Kawi crowd and much bigger X2 crowd. I'm a Kawi X2 nut so I'm over there a lot

Yeah, pwctoday has always had that, it's just how it is. Greenhulk has definitely surpassed PWCToday in recent years for performance-minded people.

I need to see how I can pull some FB or Twitter feeds in here and maybe integrate them with a forum.

@Joker do you think going that way limits the ability to draw new riders in from your area? I know around here we pretty much knew everyone with a standup at the river but not 45 minutes away at the lake.

I have no direct experience with riding groups on Facebook, but I would assume it would be one of the best ways to attract new riders. Forums like this can be intimidating to new riders that don't know much...but on Facebook you might have a friend that's already part of the group which makes the transition that much easier.

I should have mentioned our facebook group is closed and you have to be invited. We honestly have no effeicent way of getting new people. If we see someone on the forun with a close by location we say something or if we see someone new at the rising spots. Idk of any other way to be more effcient

I really like the new fourm layout, at first I didn't but I really like the alerts and the fact you can tag people. I find some new functions I didn't know about all the time.

We have a Michigan "Lake area freeriders" group on facebook. Ride are organized there from time to time, local parts searches, and random stuff.

I would love to do it on here instead, but I think our group section needs a revamp. Im just guessing here, but some of them probably havent been used in years, some are duplicates or very similar, etc. I think if we were to use groups here we would almost need mods to set a list of group areas or mods have to approve group submissions. Maybe lay out each group like a forum, where you can make a new thread for each ride/event (like the set up for Florida surf sluts for example).

I would definitely re-do the group section here. PWCtoday has a pretty robust group section. Something like that would be good.

I'm only on here.... I joined the Florida free riders group, but mainly just for pictures. I think it's just easier to post real quick in Facebook or Instagram because after you take a picture , a click or 2 later and it's posted. No new thread, no figuring out which section it should go in and other little stuff. For any real info, I'm on here. For pics I just scroll through my feed on Facebook or Instagram.

I agree on that for sure. Even with Tapatalk it's a bunch of clicks to share a pic and it's basically starting a new thread with your pic as an attachment, you can't select an existing thread.
