X2 hood chop question

Im doing your typical gen1 hood shave and I was curious about how people are running the new air vents or if I even have to, I just have a 750 small pin. Also I shaved the top to make it all flush and tossed the fuel selector and trim... Thinking about a trim set up but right now I'm curious about the hood mod

I havent done it yet but i was planning to put in a liner so the air comes in from the back by the steering. Look up the x2 guy hood kit to get an idea of what i am talking about. I was going to use 2" hoses to get any water that comes in away from the carbs.

My hood isn't shaved, but this is how my vent is set up if you can see it.
