You will probably hear alot of bashing on this thread, but I prefer Sirius. Its really all a matter of opinion though. Ads are only on certain channels, and both have em and just as much of em. Sirius has better rock stations in my opinion. XM doesnt have an equal to the hard attack station. I also like NFL and Sirius has all NFL coverage. Stern is also a good reason for me, but was never part of my deciding factor.

I know its all a matter of opinion, but my wife has XM and I have Sirius and I like XM much better. I got Sirius for the SEC football coverage, but I won't renew after my paid year is up. I think I like the way XM groups their stations better and the music is better.

I really like XM. I had it in my vehicle for over a year, and now I have it again in the new Element. I signed up for XM a couple of weeks after it debuted. My only comparrison is driving in my buddies car that had Sirius. I think the music is better, and as said previously, the grouping is nice. There isn't Howard, but I never listened to him in the first place. I have never had a complaint about the advertisments. The XM ones seem to be only one ad per commercial break. Just my $.02.

But shouldn't this thread be in the "off topic" forum?

I have sirius, and also listen to my bosses XM.

Currently all of us at work agree that Sirius has better sound quality then XM, right now anyway.

Content is tough to gauge because it is so subjective for each listener.
Some think XM has deeper playlists, some think that isn't always a good thing because sometimes that means that crap tracks are being played.
There goes the subjective opinion.

I would monitor the online streams of each before making a decision on a subscription or radio purchase.

Whats she listing to? There are no ads on any sirius music channels.
There are ads on show's like Stern and sports coverage, but then you
won't get that at all if you switch.

My pops has sirius. I like it just fine. I havnt actually noticed an add, but I dont ride in his car often. the only thing that makes me really want to get xm over sirius is that fact that xm has coast to coast and sirius doesnt. also sirius has a little app for my pocket pc that lets me listen to the streams when I have wifi.

Got Sirius. Not by choice or anything. I traded a few pinestraw jobs for a 80 bmw. He said that he canceled the subscription but after playing with it, it started aquiring signal. 3 months later, still works.

She say's that they play them on all the channels. I had xm in my car(just traded in) and liked it but the guy at CCity said that sirius had a larger library.
