When I first built my BAM hull the stock stroke non-pv 848 I built seemed to be the only motor id ever need, at first... after a year of blowing my pay check on race fuel every weekend for something that didnt hit as hard as I thought i decided to sell it and go back to a single carb 760, thanks to the 848 boat wake flips were easy so the 760 wasnt much adjustment when it came to that, but flat water became even more of a struggle (im still really bad on flat water in terms of flips purely because lack of skill) after banking some cash i started looking for another big motor that i knew could take me somewhere had i decided to get a bit more serious but was still playful in terms of my weekend wake chasing. picked up my ss900 on wednesday night with boysen intake and tuned Xscream modded carbs already on it and had it out to test thursday. After viciously beating on it for 4 days straight this motor has definitely topped the 848 by a long shot... making more power yet saving me huge money on gas. defintiely noticed a height increase on my wake flips and flat water is getting easier, current setup is rather limited but super reliable: ss900, modded 46s on boysen intake system, new PJS light weight flywheel, stock ignition with MSD enhanser, B-pipe limited with ported manifold and bored head pipe, Xscream box, stock tank, 144 solas mag, impros 9/15, thrust trim. There are definitely still adjustments to be made in terms of setup (steeper prop/PFP) but this weekend has been the best all summer, will update more as i change my setup to meet the output of the motor.
