Freestyle Xscream Turnplate

What turn plate kit do you guys recommend?

The older style (http://www.xmetalworks.com/products/xscream+steering+system/11)

or the newer adjustable style? (http://www.xmetalworks.com/products/xscream+adjustable+steering+system/73)

I dont for see myself adjusting it much but I do like the bearing feature (I think, ride fresh water only)

new style all the way... it is soooooo smooth. I set mine once and have not changed it.


I think they actually disco'd the old style.

Id go new, the older works but you have to do some modifications to it to keep it from loosening up every ride.

I do not like it, I've got a WDK steering and a buddy ordered the Xmetal adjustable it can't compare, I would try and get one of his if you can

Yup, Most people will yell and scream as they wave the Xmetal flag, Ive got both and WDK is the way to go...But you have to get it, If you call Jeff and he says he has them in stock buy it! more money but its better, Ill never ever sell my WDK set-up

I agree if you can get one its the way to go. Very nice set up, only down side is its a carbon bearing not stainless

I'd go with any steering without bearings. I like the cold fusion bushing setup. I hate the umi style bearing setups.

rrp all the way, always stays tight. oem bushing always comes loose and becomes annoying

but of the 2 your choosing from, i would go for the new style with the thrust bearing

I was very disappointed in the quality of the new X-metal adjustable steering. I say go RRP or WDK

i seen the Cold Fusion and it is very nice. ANY plate without bearings has got to be better than the umi crap. now if someone would make a bearing less quick steer plate with the bars mounting on the pivot point, I would buy tommorrow.

i got my idea from the riser bar thread. someone had done it and i liked getting rid of the sweeping effect of the turn plate.

One very good quality that cold-fusion has is customer service you won't have to question. I have zero experience with wdk. Some have had good luck and others have not.

One reason why the conflicts are the question you asked. I am now running the RRP but you only asked old or new X metal so I didnt comment on this one. I just dont like the older X metal because it loosens up all the time. In reality, get what you think is best or better yet try them all first and make up your mind. They all work, some just need more attention to detail than others
