Yamaha blue year to year

is it the same every year?

the newer ones seem darker

The blue has changed at least once. Blowsion told me this, and if you search by year on colorrite.com they show, for example, that 1998 and 2008 are two different codes, although both are called "deep purplish blue".

(I have no idea how accurate colorrite's paint mixes are, so don't blame me if you buy paint from them and it doesn't match)

Lol. ^^ colorrite is very accurate. We used them in the dealership. RAther than paying a paint shop to match it. As far as the blue, I think they changed a couple times for superjets and some of the cruisers even had a different shade.

98 was one color, 99-2001 was a color, I believe 2002-2003 was different, more purple looking, 2004-2005 different 2006-2007 Black.

I could be off a year or two.

96-97 white, 98-2001 lighter blue, 02-03 purplish blue, 04-06 black, red graphics, 07 black, yellow graphics, 08-11 blue, 12-13 black....

i think. imo 07 looks the best

My 99 is deffinitly more purple but i always thought it was just sun exposure damage.....
