I need some help from someone. I just dropped about 1000$ on a full ebox rebuild from jetski solutions with a new MSD enhancer etc. I have installed it and while it looks great and is producing solid spark my ski simply wont start. Occasionally I will get backfires too. Im assuming this has got to be a timing issue but Jet Ski solutions was not very helpful when I asked and said that timing is not changeable in the CDI. My current theory is that I have an issue with my stator wiring or it is not compatible with the kit they gave me. The wires coming from my new ebox to the stator are black, brown, white, green and green. while the wires from the stator are black, white/brown, white/red, green, and green. I connected the greens from the stator to the ebox as well as the blacks, I chose to connect white/brown to brown and white/red to red. But now i see that when I go to look at new stators some of them come with the same wiring as my ebox while others come with the wiring colors I have now. Are these stators interchangeable? did I wire this correctly?
I have heard people say to pull the cover and look for a sheared key on the flywheel but I just dont think thats the problem as the ski was running fine except for the intermittent spark from the bad cdi/coil system.
