Yamaha Wave Blaster 1 Driveshaft DIAMETER

I have the Driveshaft and Spline Lengths, but what are the Diameters for:

Wave Blaster 1 Driveshaft 62E-45511-00 Diameter= ?

SN 650 SuperJet Driveshaft 6R7-45511-01-00 Diameter= ?

Are they the same Diameter? Do Splines match?

Google Searched everywhere and No Joy. PwcToday was a dud.

Thinking about doing a Pump Setback on my Square Nose so it turns more like a 2008+ SJ.

Have a Spare 144 mm Impeller Housing that's 3 inches wide which would give it a 3" Setback.

The 650 SN Driveshaft is 26" long and the WB1 Driveshaft is 28-7/8".

This will work if the WB1 Driveshaft Diameter is the same as the 650 SJ Driveshaft.

Figured easiest/cheapest way is to install a 29" Driveshaft in the SN Pump since WB1 Pump Setups are hard to find.

Then all that I need to do is install All Thread long enough to join/clamp the longer Pump Assembly and epoxy-in some Pump Brass Inserts.

Plus a 3" Longer Steering Cable or Cable Extension...

I used an 08 driveshaft which set mine back 2”
That way it’s legal in rule book for vintage racing technically. 650 driveshafts are skinny. It was also easy to do but you have to machine a wear ring. Note: Skat setbacks are 30mm setback so this combo adds 20mm to what Skat did but moves nozzle back out like an 08’. I also did it on my blaster spec. My square with this mod and tubbies handles great.

I haven’t updated it in a bit but here is the build:

Yes driveshaft fit perfect! Blaster will work but it’s too long for what I did. I used a pump I had. Probably a pump for 90-20. All really the same. The older ones just have that bilge function. Pumps technically are same 90-2020

I used the 90 midshaft housing but upgraded to the 95-20 shaft. Shaft has larger threads to use same coupler as 95-20.

The SN 650 SuperJet Driveshaft Diameter actually measures 16 mm; with a 14 (?) Tooth Spline

The Wave Blaster 1 Driveshaft Diameter should be 18 mm with a 16 Tooth Spline.

Going by the listed Driveshaft Holder Tool Specs...
They are same splines. Gp1200 is same splines! I will post pics of each within 20 minutes

650 superjet shaft is necked down between seal surfaces and splines. But same exact specs on each end as every single Yamaha twin ski basically 650+.

Blaster driveshaft. Identical at each end to the superjet. Just longer and it doesn’t neck down. The 701 superjet shaft doesn’t neck down either. Only early 650 stuff. But they ALL interchange
