awesome Lee:biggthumpup: :arms: I can't wait to see the hull. I'll definitely follow this build.

Keep us posted with a ton of details and pics.

Cool. I was there last Saturday (and a few other days) and he was working on it. The day he called you while I was there, he was getting ready to drop top on the bad boy.

I agree about the white ski thing. You've been rattle black for too long.

What motor?

No its not carbon fiber.

Here is the deal with Wamilton Mod hulls. In the late 90's yamaha gave him something like 20 Blaster top decks to use with his bottom hull. When Yamaha actually gave a crap about racing they used hulls like this and RPots carbon hull to spank the $hit out of HX's.

The bottom hull is not carbon fiber and it is actually fiberglass. The hull is a mod hull meaning it has a deaper V and it is longer so it will be more competitive against the hx's.

Last time I spoke with Wammer he said he has 3 new topdecks left. Obviously one went to Lee so he might have 2 left. He has the mold to the bottom part of the hull so he can make as many as he would like. Basically there are 2 more chances to own a brand new blaster with a mod hull left. After he sells those 2 top decks then you will have to provide him with a used top deck of your choice.

The cost for his bottom mod hull and new top deck was $6000. Remember thats only the hull and I think it comes with motor mounts. Correct me if I'm wrong Lee.

When its all said and done to make an all out very competitive mod blaster you are looking at about $20000 if you dont do any of the work yourself.

If I could afford it right now I would buy one in a heart beat. There is nothing more I want than an all out race mod blaster.

Some of you might be asking why not use carbon fiber like the RPOT hulls. Well to be honest weight is not the problem with blasters. The blasters biggest challenge is staying hooked up like the HX's do so a little extra weight might actually help you.

I spoke to a guy out in Texas about a year ago who has one of these hulls and he said it is one of the strongest hulls he has ever seen. It supposed to be almost indestructible.

Well sorry for the rambling. If I'm wrong about any of this please correct me Lee. Lee knows far more about these things than I do.

I'm not sure exactly how long they are, but they extend almost all the way out to the bond line.

I think the rule for mod hulls from the IJSBA is that the hull cant extend beyond the bond line and nothing on the hull like a rideplate/hull extensions cant protrude more than 100mm from the bond line.

Here are some pics of Dustin Motzouris mod hull that he raced in the late 90's. I believe its a wammer hull, but I'm not positive. Look at the transom and you'll see what Im talking about.

ScottieMac actually has a Wamiltons Mod Hull. I'm sure everyones seen pictures of his ski, but here's a pic anyways.

Ive actually got a huge file with pictures of about 160 different blaster that I have collected. Im just a huge blaster fan.

Recognize the second blaster Tim? Yep, thats Reeds B1. I found that picture a while back and I knew I had seen Reed's ski somewhere before. The picture is actually from when some guy in Kansas owned Reed's ski.

Bring it flyboy...got a HX for ya anytime.:cool2:

Thats alright you old guys need to have nice cushioned seat and that extra top end that an HX provides if ya wanna keep up with the young guys like me on blasters.

I actually rode an HX for the first time the other day and I didn't like it at all.

The wammer hull is about 3 inches longer than stock, but the pump is 4 inches farther back. Still retains the rear lip, and yes, it sucks, but only for wave jumping.

As for the weight, while it helps off the line, it hurts during the race. My brothers hand made mod that probably weighs 30 lbs more than mine, stays hooked much better than mine. I am actually going to be experimenting with adding weight to mine this year depending on the conditions.

I still stand by what I said 10 years ago...... if Yamaha would have put this hull into production, the sport class would be huge today. WHY you ask? Because the Mod blaster hull retains the "funness" of the originial blaster, while fixing all the problems it had. It stays in the water much better, it turns on a dime, and the 62t based motors in Superstock and mod form will always have an advantage where it counts, off the line!

Oh well, I guess we really needed all those tugboats Yamaha has put out over the years.
