Been practicing this alot lately and wondering if anyone else is too. I'm taking the same upper body motions as a surfer and using it to shift my weight differently. Also surf style bottom turns dragging my hand on the inside. Can also do little one hand off the whole time reentries but they need some work lol I'm having fun with it so you should be too!

Been diggin' the one-handed riding for a long time. It truly makes you a better rider overall. It really makes you have your weight in the right spots at all times, especially without holds or straps (I mean no offense by this!).

Cutbacks, bottom turns, re-entries, and stabs are all fun one-handed. Also do a lot of high speed flat water carving one-handed.

I've also been doing it for years. I do it on a bouy course. It really helps with where to postion your feet for perfect balance.

All Hail surf stance riding one handed ! I have tried turning one handed a few times and have felt the freedom/potential of it... plan to work on it more...sharp turns to the right while no left hand and giving it throttle are fun.

You rock one handed riding. You inspired me to fool around one handed. Balance is KEY.

How old is that first pic:headbang:

I like the added thrill of a little one handed action too. Most of the time I'm riding I let my bars float in my fingers and don't hold on too tight. The last time I was out I fouled the landing on a one handed re-entry and ended up riding it out laying on my pole & hood:lmao:

Stan I saw you practicing that at Pismo last Oct. Very cool, you have some great skillz! I often take one hand off when I am finishing off a wave ride, don't know why, I just kinda fell into it. On the other hand I NEVER do one handed ariel manuvers, I guess I could learn but I just don't care. Personally I just like to hold on to my ski with all my might!

Danm guys why hate on this? I figured if anything you would be stoked to see something different. I started this so we can tlk about how differently you can turn with one hand off. Have you even tried it or is it like everything else you hate? Please stay calm people

I guess you have to mix it up when you have it dialed in to keep it interesting. I am not to that stage yet, but as soon as I get my sea doo out of the shop I am going try a one handed move. I am sure it adds a great bit of difficulty to riding. Nice post! Got me motivated. Keep up the sick moves!

Not about having it dialed or keeping it interesting, its about challenging yourself and finding your own style! I dont think anyone has surf riding dialed even the best riders have room for improvement so who cares where you are at personally. just like all tricks the hardest part is picturing it, making it reality comes naturally with practice.
Now a question for discussion because idk, can this be done in regular and goofy stance, or is it goofy stance only?

how about challanging yourself by turning where the wave is most critical or doing 5 turns on the same wave or being smooth and landing your airs back into the wave not out the back?..thats how i challange myself
