Twice . I was alone in the middle of the lake so I fired it up and drove in knowing damn well what had happened. I built this motor 15 years ago so it had a good life.

@x-jetter: I am curious if you have a total loss or an ignition that uses a modified
stock flywheel?
Same process. Detonation Destroys, and Preignition Melts. The only difference between
a crown melting into a port and the center of the piston is X-Jetter's spark plug was the
preignition source and when a crown melts into a transfer or exhaust port, the preignition
source is a sharp edge on the piston crown caused by previous detonation seizures.

Just a stock flywheel and msd enhancer. Brand new carbs though and they were way too lean
