  • Randy says the melted stator is probably caused by a bad starter ground, said if it's bad when I hit the starter the juice flows to the stator killing it. He also said my bendix needs replacing since the bearings & springs popped loose. so thats $200, plus if I need a stator another ?$$ or a new cdi, another ?$$...ouch !
Status is, I drilled the hull drains and it drained for 2 days, need to finish that project.I got the pole bracket off but I need to reuse the bolts and they don't want to come out. I sent my electrical box and stator to Watcon on Monday I'm going to call him now and see if he received it yet.
I did the rope trick with an electical cord, worked good. The flywheel seemed to be glued/melted to the stator I need to call Watcon again to find out what he says about that. My bendix seems messed up, some springs & bearings are not in place, so I probably need one of those too.
I still need to uninstall the electrical box to ship it. My order is in Oregon, soo I'll have that stuff to work on on sunday
Didn't have to, don't know if it's lowered or not. He gave a good deal on a new one, said it would easier. I forgot to ask about the starter. I need to figure out how to stop the motor from turning over while trying to use the pulller.
I bought a puller this morning, also bought from Randy a whole new handlepole bracket to alighn the hood, hull drains & tow hook.
Haha. I talked to Randy this morning. He said it's probably the cdi. He wants me to send him the entire electrical box and he'll diagnose it.
