cant figure out bottom end bogging

I have a 94 Blaster B1 that I have rebuilt and have been having problems tuning it for bottom end performance. It runs very good on the top end and idles very well. It bogs then cleans up as it gets to full throttle when I punch from low speed or when I am at high speed then slow down for a...

    Blaster pump rebuild advice (seals)

Seems like the bearing seats are nice and smooth. No noticeable damage anywhere. There is a wear line about where the seal would line up. Its not worn in at all though, just seems dirty and rubs off with my fingernail for the most part. I havent really tried cleaning it up much yet other...

    Blaster pump rebuild advice (seals)

So, it sounds like the seals coming apart is typical of a misaligned shaft. Maybe i was off somewhere

    Blaster pump rebuild advice (seals)

I used a rebuild kit from jet maniac, which I believe are oem seals and bearings. I pressed bearings and seals in evenly with an arbor press.

    Blaster pump rebuild advice (seals)

I think so. I installed the pump first with no shims, then installed the midshaft which lined up well to the bolt holes on the firewall. That is, when I tightened the bolts on the firewall, it was not forcing the shaft in any direction. Then I shimmed the engine so the couplings lined up on...

    Blaster pump rebuild advice (seals)

At the begining of last season, I put a solas mag pump and a hooker prop in my wb1. I put in new bearings and seals as well. Toward the end of the season I put in a smaller pump cone and when I took the old one out I noticed the grease inside the pump was watery and discolered. I left it for...

Blaster Anyone tried Frogzskins over the tops of the intake tubes?

I'll probably enlarge those bulkhead holes too. About how much did you enlarge them? I'll have to get in there and see if I can do it cleanly with the engine still in there.

Blaster Anyone tried Frogzskins over the tops of the intake tubes?

Nice, thanks again for the info. I'll see how well the versiplugs do. And then hopefully won't have to deal with water in my carb anymore.

Blaster Anyone tried Frogzskins over the tops of the intake tubes?

Ok, thanks for the explanation. I was kind of thinking of having them mounted vertically by adding an elbow to the front tube or somethin. Do they restrict airflow a lot? I am waiting to get the versiplugs shipped now, but just seein what other options are out there

Blaster Anyone tried Frogzskins over the tops of the intake tubes?

I am trying to minimize water getting into my engine bay because I keep getting water in my carb. So far, I put the oem flame arrestor back on, have a coupler cover on, and just bought some versiplugs. But, I am wondering if anyone has tried putting frogzskins over the tops of the black rubber...

Blaster Water getting in carb, any ideas?

Ya I typically pull it up on bunks, but just wondering how well the seal if I have it on a friends dock or somethin for a while.

Blaster Water getting in carb, any ideas?

Also, how well do the versiplugs seal? Will they take on water if I leave my ski in the water at the dock over night?

Blaster Water getting in carb, any ideas?

Nice, sounds like the versi plugs are the place to start. I'll order a couple and see if it helps. It was sounding like those frogzskins were a pretty good idea as well. Do they not work all that well? It seems like if I put those on the top of the intake tubes, they would at least reduce...

Blaster Water getting in carb, any ideas?

Nice, I'll have to grab a couple versi plugs. Do you use the ones that just screw into the existing drain plug or are you using larger ones? I do have the coupler cover on there. Think I will probably get some frog skins and maybe an outerwear too, while im at it. Also, has anyone found...

Blaster Water getting in carb, any ideas?

Thanks for the replies. Think ill try opening up the holes in the bulkhead a bit, then either bilge pumps or those versa plugs. Not sure which yet. Any recommendations on which moves water out faster? I'll probably try one of those outerwears too. Any more suggestions?

Blaster Water getting in carb, any ideas?

I have been having problems keeping water from getting into my carb if i dive the nose under water a bit. I feel like i have tried everything. I put the oem flame arrestor back on, which seemed to do better than the tau ceti i had before, but still got some water in it the other day. I tried...

Blaster oem equivalent flame arrestor to fit 46mm Blackjack carb

I have a 93 WB1 that I rebuilt over last winter and have now been riding this summer. I am getting much better on it and have been riding some surf and doing flat water stuff. Lately when I dive it under, it ends up running a little rough for a bit until it eventually clears out. I figure...
