I'm still wondering why tray re-foamers would use sheet of cut foam vs. expanding 2 part urethane. Seems to me the void airspace left with 'cut foam' would store much more water than an expanding foam. My .02
Why wouldn't Flex Seal work? I don't see any drawbacks, and it could potentially work...
Post #5 has a good point (plastic wrap) o/ resin cloth. Let's you squeeze extra resin out. Smoothing, shaping, and compressing (evenly distributed weight) but..... you can let the epoxy set up up w/o removing the plastic wrap.
Those of us (in the cold) might not want their heater to run all...
There are formula's out there. Check West systems. Obviously, any excess is a waste, but too little starves cloth of saturation.
If you vacuum, too much Hg pressure is bad also.

WPS featherweight- seems like a good alternative-( 490-2520 ), time will tell
