The XS stuff seems (to me) to be by far the most capable AND forgiving. I've ridden/tuned Rickters, Freaks, a Hurricane, backie Chan, and a few others.
The XS stuff does it for me. And FTR, I pay retail for my XS hulls. They just fit my riding style the best. Fit and finish are unmatched...
I may try and make it. Tough call for me as its a big drive. No place lined up to stay either but I'm sure I can find somewhere. Gotta watch the weather and see how I feel towards the end if the week.
Go ride around as slow as you can with a tach and see what it says ;)
Keep in mind too if its on really early you'll be loading up the water box with water at low rpms, which is not a good thing.
You understand you're above 3500 if you're riding the ski don't you? Just putting around puts you way up there in rpms. There is likely no advantage in earlier activation other than a closed course type start.
Slow down! If you hit the wake right you don't need to pull. Be sure your pre hop puts the nose in the bottom of the trough of your wave. As soon as it hits the bottom, nail it and hold it until your pump clears the water. Stand in the middle of the ski....don't lean back.
Are you sure you're not slipping the prop? We ran 15/22 in our test boat, and it was on the loose side.
Your highs should be no more than 1/2 out.
Did you pressure test the pipe before installing?
Eds suggestions are for his mods, not everyone else's stuff. He prefers the accuracy of jetting vs inconsistent tapered screws that vary significantly among each other.
