All holes drilled! Step drill bits turned out perfect. Left room for one more pisser incase I run pipe dry. Bilge outlet is offset so the outgoing water doesn't interfere with the hood.

When you go to reinstall the throttle plate: leave the screws loose, and move the throttle shaft back and forth until the plate "seats" itself. Then tighten her down. I personally like to do that, then take out one screw at a time and loctite them.

If you're on a budget the blaster prop would work well.

It's an easy repair, don't sweat it. Make sure to dremel the screws flush with the shaft before trying to pull them out.

See if there's any slop in the bushings...

Some leakage is totally normal. How does it idle? Is the throttle plate worn? If it's running good don't worry about it. Don't worry about the screws. If it comes to that, you put a block of wood to support the shaft, and wack the end of the screw to mushroom it. Or using a spring powered...

I am terrified to drill into this thing! I got the recommended step drill bits Jeff told me to use. For my rip I just used standard drill bits and had decent luck. For gelcoated carbon do you go max speed and just ease into it? My only concern is flaking/chipping the gelcoat. Wish I had a test...

I've always ran laydown pipes on my 701s. They flatwater flipped. Your tank options are limited, but there's a guy who makes tanks that are 3.6 gallons and Tony runs them so he could dial you in with that. Get yourself a tc freeride exhaust hose so you don't have to worry about water injestion...
