Serious question for the old guys here

Anything that you take to help fall asleep (including, sleep aids, pain pills) will make sleep apnea worse. Basically anything that makes you drowsy has a negative affect on the quality of your sleep. If you are taking Vicodin or Norco for pain and you need something to help you fall asleep...

Do you have sleep apnea? Bill M.

    New Engine, Running Issues

That is an indication that a problem exists (imagined or otherwise), the so called problem wasn't fixed by lowering the pop-off. Bill M.

Does it prevent you from riding it in the water?

    No throttle response

Your pump and/or cooling line is most likely blocked with sand. When the exhaust hose blew, it filled the engine compartment with exhaust, and since exhaust can not burn twice, it killed the power. Then it is possible your overheat sensor may have kicked in and activated limp mode. I can't...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 sxi little/no spark - Must be stator...?

The pdf instructions include the circuit so it can all be printed out. Enclose the circuit in a plastic project box for safety. I epoxied the leads to the box. The instructions are for the 800, but they are for in common parts with the 750. Someone should take the peak voltage tester and make...

    Pop off pressure dual 38’s

That is very similar to old 440/550's. The vent had a 1 way valve, and ran up into the hand pole. Bill M.

    Pop off pressure dual 38’s

The simple answer is no. But just like the carburetors atmospheric pressure pushes the fuel into the fuel pump. Atmospheric pressure pushes air into the venturi, and atmospheric pressure pushes on the float diaphragm and as a result, it (atmospheric pressure) opens the needle and seat, then...

    Pop off pressure dual 38’s

Working on Kawasaki's during the 80's & 90's, I found that most problems people associate with fuel pumps, are really caused by the needle and seat not opening and the most common cause was a vacuum leak. Sounds like you are talking about highly modified carbs having problems with their pilot...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 sxi little/no spark - Must be stator...?

Resistance testing isn't very reliable. If I was still a mechanic, I would not rely on those specs to order parts. Your Purple & Red ohm test is at the bottom of my specs (410 to 530) Ac voltage testing is more reliable than ohm testing, but it doesn't test the CDI. My Ac voltage specs are...

    Carb Synchronization problem

It is more difficult synchronizing a set of carbs that isn't held together with a rack. If your superjet runs like other Yamaha's, the slave carb that doesn't open all the way will make a little more power than the master that is wide open. Did you reuse any gaskets? Bill M.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 sxi little/no spark - Must be stator...?

Can you build a simple electronic circuit? If so we can make a peak voltage tester for the stator and CDi. It will help if it you enclose it in a plastic project box and had an extra set of leads for the MM. Don't want you to get shocked while testing. If not ACV testing is more reliable...

    Inside case polishing

I don't know what they use in Hot Tanks these days, but when I was a kid we used caustic soda and we used to throw beer cans into the sump and watch them dissolve within a few minutes. Bill M.

impeller has 1/8" rotational slop, please advise.

Pipe building for watercraft has many challenges (pitfalls) compared to building a pipe for a MX bike. The first challenge is to not raise the inside temperature of the engine compartment from heat (ECH) radiated by the pipe. Increased ECH decreases HP because it lowers the air density to the...

impeller has 1/8" rotational slop, please advise.

3 into 1 Expansion chambers don't work on triples! Who cares about lost volume I care about the design. Dry out the stock pipe, incorporate a FPP/MSD/Advent (ECWI) Electronically Controlled Water Injection Good porting (not Group K porting, or DASA), and impeller. Bill M. Round doesn't...

    Melted Piston

@x-jetter: I am curious if you have a total loss or an ignition that uses a modified stock flywheel? Same process. Detonation Destroys, and Preignition Melts. The only difference between a crown melting into a port and the center of the piston is X-Jetter's spark plug was the preignition...

    Pop off pressure dual 38’s

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say. As I read it, you are inferring that fuel pump pressure has a significant role to overcome the pop-off, similar too Klemm. Bill M. Have you ever deliberately repaired a vacuum leak as the sole problem on a Yamaha, Kawasaki, or SeaDoo?

    Pop off pressure dual 38’s

Yes, it is responsible for opening the needle and seat to start the engine and control the idle mixture. It is not intended as a low speed adjustment, but there is overlap. A few older carbs had pilot circuits, but they were fuel only, and required a different adjustment. The newer pilot...
