I wouldn't think so, there is only one thin screen (flame arrestor) on them but I personally haven't ran them an 1100.

Neoprene socks for sure.... helps against sand, rocks, and Zebra Mussel (at one Freeride I attend) etc... (edit - they also make different thicknesses for different water temps)...
