going from memory, I believe 550s had 130-150psi compression stock?(Reed motors were 175?)... Anything above 120 and cylinders match +-5psi run it. Leakdown test if the engine is turning over and has "even" compression, run it. You got it for free? :)

Porpoising comes from a bad rider. Just like death wobbles on a skateboard. Change your stance and ride it out. The only skis that don't porpoise stock are 2008+ SJs and 2003+ SXRs. It took OEMs 30 years(1973 JS400) to figure that out lol.

A stock hood with the liner removed is almost the same weight. Most of the weight saving is in removing the fire extinguisher lol. The stock hoods are SMC.
