That would have been good to knowo_O.. Now I do. Cant believe how fast this got diagnosed on here. I will definitely be asking if something doesn't seem right from now on.
Nope. Just kept tightening ring compressor until they went in when I turned the motor by hand it didn't feel like too much resistance. It was just one of those things that you don't know till you know. First experience with a 2 stroke ever and should have inquired on here on why the rings...
I know what the ring gap is and to check it on a used piston. My instructions said to put ring gaps at 180deg lined up with wrist pin with no mention of alignment pins. First motor build so I didn't know anything about them. The cylinders will be on their way back to PHP tomorrow and just...
I did. The instructions with the pistons put the end gaps in a different location and never mentions the alignment pins. I thought they were to lock rings in place. MY bad and I paid the price. I expected to make some mistakes on this build this one is just hard to swallow
Zach if you could give me a call. I would like to send the cylinders back to you. Just need to know time and cost. They are the two things I am running out of quickly
I'm not questioning the work done by PHP or the bore shop at all you guys have been great. I'm not quite sure how to correct for the pins. I did not know that they could be off. Am I correct in thinking you are referring to the ones between the case and cylinders. Next question is, are these...
This is my first time doing assembling a motor. Not sure how it was bored and install instructions never said to measure end gap or piston clearance so I didn't. I got everything done and pistons from the same place. What could I have done or not done assembling it to have caused this. This...
I did everything exactly according to installation instructions. Kept double and triple checking steps to make sure I was doing it right. Bought all of the correct tools for the job, lubed all aspects of the install. If I screwed up I don't know how I made the exact same mistake on both pistons.
Just started my motor off of a bore and port job. Went up to 83mm with new Pro-X pistons motor ran for between 30sec an a min and never started again, somehow lost spark. Decided to pull off the head and found similar scoring on both cylinders intake side.
Think I got it. Broken wire on Ebox plug. Can't start it up now its a little late. Dont think I will be there tomorrow but I will be busting all day tomorrow to have it there Sunday.
Can't get it started. I am getting nothing when I hit the start switch. Engine will turn over if I jump the relay but outside of that, no clicks or anything. If anybody has any ideas please chime in.
Hate to beat a dead horse here. It has been nice to have a forum all to myself the other two ColoRADo riders and a couple others that comented. It turned out to be a pure build forum. East coast, west coast and Michigan guys dominate here, have the sweetest builds and is where I got 99% of my...
Gonna get it fired up tonight hopefully. If it runs I will hit the meet up this wknd. Maybe even if it doesnt. I'm sure there will be enough brainpower there
I've been busy the last couple of days on the ski. Hood DONE (kinda). Turf DONE. Gonna finish up motor install tonight and get it fired up. Never mind the mess or paint on my camera lens I have been scrambling to finish. I wanted to keep the spirit of the square with this build and I kinda...
Kind of wishing that I would have started the hood a little earlier. Still have at least two solid nights of layups on it and then paint. Got pole bracket mounted and set up, motor and elec are all in. After I get hood bagged tonight I will be getting exhaust and fuel tank in. Plan on...
So I figured out how to keep my exhaust hose from hitting my carbs. I had a length of carbon fiber tube left from my exhaust pipe build so I whipped up a quick offset dogleg coupler. Handlepole is sanded and clear coated and I am stoked, it turned out awesome. I ended up with one straggler...
AC Racing handlepole DONE. Bagged on three plies 5oz twill. Welder at work did an awesome job on the shortening of it -2in. Carbon is just added security and bling.
Motor is going in this weekend. Hope to up and running by next. I will definitely be ready for part 2. All my friends are out riding now and its killing me. Agenda for the week is hood, turf and get it fired up
