Went ahead and cut the footholds out. Then cut out the tray. Full of water and apparently the previous owner did some glass work on the tray but not very well. Because I was able to pull his work off with not much force. The tray was full of water. The foam was soaked about two inches up the...
With work I'm only able to put in 1-2 hours of work in at a time. But was able to get a good bit stripped down today.

Finally built the motor today. About 2 years ago I built a 650/701 for it. Last year bc of a bad crank seal. It went into a free rev and tore apart a piston. I just put together a 61x using my cylinders. It is bored .5mm. Tomorrow I will start on the ski.

Add drains...
I'm going to go with Toby for some footholds. This will be my first time. I'm also thinking about doing the tray and adding drains also reinforcing where the handle pole mounts. I should probably start a build page bc I'm overhauling everything just finished painting the engine. Waiting on...
Im getting my SN ready for the season. I was curious on any advice for the best footholds to buy and installation advice.

I'm going to pull motor out tomorrow and see if those metal shavings have destroyed anything else. It's a 650 bottom/61x top ported and .5 over. I rebuilt it last year. So after tomorrow I'll decide to go with a 701 bottom or not. What pistons do you guys recommend.

Decided to check my compression today (160/160). After words went to start and it pegged wide open. I pulled both plug wires immediately with hesitation. Checked carb butterfly it was closed. So started it again without air filter so I could put my hand over the carb. It started and idled but...
Spring I'm running the 95gram spring. I have not done the pop off yet. But what's odd is it will start right up just tilting it just slightly to the left. It just seems like to much water in the exhaust and ski naturally tilts to the carb side. So if I just tilt it to almost level it starts up...
I've rebuilt the carb but can try all new jets. It just seems like there is to much water in the exhaust and when I tilt it on that side it tilts the water away from the motor. I can clarify this I guess by pulling the plugs and see if it's wet.
I have a 90 superjet with 650/61x, westcoast head and b pipe. I just installed a flow control valve in hopes of finding a solution to my ski not wanting to start easily in the water after runs. I'm running dual cooling, one from head to pisser, other from head to top of b pipe the out to a T...
I feel like an idiot. I think I figured it out. I'm running an 6m6 exhaust gasket on a 61x. But I'm leaving for 3 weeks for some military training so won't know till I get back.
As many times as I've tore back onto the motor it looks like to much water building up in the exhaust. You can hear the idle drop down after about a second or two of idling. Now if you getting on it to clear the throat right before you poop her off she'll start back up easier but not perfect. If...
I have been off and on chasing this problem. It's very annoying ski is a blast to ride. I have a 90 superjet with 6m6 bottom 61x top bored .5 over. Westcoast head, b pipe, dual cooling. It gets water (not a lot) in the cylinders at idle. I have replaced head gasket, and exhaust gasket. Checked...
I have a 6m6 bored and running .5mm over 701 pistons. Been having water getting into motor after shut off. Hard to start back up. Have not done a leak down test yet bit can I run a 701 head gasket to seal the larger bore. I have what seems to be a blown head gasket (second one). I was also...
Spoke to soon. I wanted to be 100%. So I tested both wires. Turns out about 6" of the white wire from the ebox was completely shot inside the insulation.
