What ever you can afford that runs good. Ride it for a summer then you will know more of what you wanna do. Js's are older and sx's newer. You can find one for 800 or less in good running condition. Heck, I bought a good running Superjet las year for 600. But you just have to look for deals. I...
Ok It has been a while but I wanted to do a little update. I got a little side tracked with powdercoating. But have got the cases ported and finished putting together the bottom end. I am planning on not using the stock head now. I am going to have nuclear6 cut domes for a girdled Ada head. I...
Well after some thought I ground off the staked back of the screws and were able to remove them with out screwing up my linkages then bought some 3 mm x10 mm to replace them I will have to trim them and stake them to finish up. But here is a picture of my carbs prefitted after powder coating. I...
Well want to experiment a little with some powder coating. I have the carbs torn almost all the way down but was wandering if the throttle butterfly bushings would withstand the heat of the powder coating process(400 degrees) for 20 min. If they will not can some one explain to me the process...
Here are a few pictures of the degree dial I made.
I don't know much about the degrees and and duration I need, but this is what I have and I'm hoping you guys on here can advise me on what would be the best combination.
With no base gasket the
exhaust opens at 89.5 and the transfers open...
Well I was going to swap all the shafts and bearings around to just do a dry fit to see how It looked but.......... I blew the back of the 155 stator out pressing the bearing out the WRONG way. So I am sticking with the 144 pump.
Mainly the cost right now. If I had the money I would rather put it in to a hull. What ever I put into this Superjet hull can easily be swapped into a aftermarket hull down the road.
Thanks pro-pulsing. Matt say I get the glassing figured out. Proformance wise will it hit hard or load the motor to much off the bottom. Ps if you get a chance to chime in I have a thread about my motor build and home porting job. I really liked you home porting write up...
Ok for now this will be going in to my square nose. Eventually hopefully when funds permit into a bob g3. I have a stock 650coming out and a dry piped 760 going in it has the cylinders lowered and will have a Ada head on it with around 190 compression. Stock duel 44s, stock ignition (61x), riva...
What will the after market hull be used for? Stock for stock the 701 will have a better bottom end hit, but the 760 will have more HP. Right now I am building a 760 but it wont be stock. Many say go with the 701. A 760 is sort of a budget big bore and if done right some say it will hit just as...
Well I finished up widening my exhaust ports today. I have a question though. After laying out the stock ports on my magnetic paper I multiplied 84mm x 69% to get my widest point. Then I drew over it to modify the width and shape on the sides. This comes out to 57.96mm. I rounded to 58 (...
Popped them back in the oven at 500 for about 30 minutes. And slid the sleeves back in. Then aligned everything. Put the head gasket and head on and tightened it all down. Set it back in the oven for 15 minutes or so. Then when I removed them I just set them on the top of the case half to cool...
