Just get a RN pole and modify that to what length you want. It was the best decision I had ever made about my square. It helped so much with both surf and flat water.

I have seen this ski before. Weird pole looks way to long, but just like what routs1 said play with the quick steer plate and you can also do the quick steer mod on the nozzle too. That will help to get the ski to turn faster.

Your turf came out great!! I just did mine for the first time and had the biggest issue with the corners. How did you cut the turf so that when you wrap it around it meets perfectly up top and sticks?
