750 problems If it's an early 750 and you added a timing advance plate your timing can be screwed as the trigger will not be in the correct location. The stators can go bad (even while sitting on the bench)...and this is usually the problem..

Welding pumps. I have never seen a welded pump survive on anything that makes reasonable horsepower. The vanes usually re-break just past the weld. I would personally buy another pump.

Listen to this guy, as he is 100% correct... The 440 pump was best when you have an overported cylinder, a short pipe, and the motor made all the power from mid-range & up. The 550 pump will usually hook up better in most conditions, and takes advantage of the torque that most motor have now...
